The Beach Permit
The Town of Hilton Head Island requires a permit for a ceremony on the beach, and it is free. Apply online at least 30 days ahead with your exact location, date, start time, how long it will run, your guest count and a daytime phone. Islanders Beach Park is closed to wedding permits from September 8, 2026 through May 31, 2027. The Town's number is 843-341-4600.
The Sea Pines Resort
These come from the resort's venue page. Sea Pines is a gated community, so ask how your vendors and guests get in.

Your South Carolina License
From Beaufort County Probate Court.
- There is a 24 hour waiting period from when you apply until the license is issued.
- Appointments only, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm, at the Beaufort office or the Hilton Head satellite office.
- Bring valid government ID. No blood tests.
